What is Spiritual Direction?
Spiritual Direction is the practice of providing a safe space for a person to explore their spiritual life. With skilled listening and careful inquiry, the Director accompanies the person’s journey of their soul with kindness, compassion and prayer. Together participants share an attentiveness to the movement of the Divine on this journey.
The Importance of Spiritual Direction
Experiences with Spiritual Direction vary from person to person since people seek this experience for many different reasons. One might seek a connection with a Higher Power, another might be in search of peace and joy, or purpose. Or someone else might want to address the grief that they might be going through in their lives. Others try to comprehend the experiences of holiness in their life.
A Spiritual Director can offer holy companionship in the person’s pursuit of spiritual fulfillment through deep listening while experiencing a safe and confidential environment.
